The Cancer Institute NSW is pleased to once again host the Cancer Innovations Conference 2023. The Conference is back after a three-year break and will showcase a program centred on equity. We're fostering conversations about improving access, coordination of care and outcomes for people with cancer.

Join us at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth on Tuesday 1st August for this free event. The program has been designed to explore the big challenges facing the NSW cancer system now and into the future. It brings together diverse voices and perspectives and seeks to seed ideas on how to improve equity and collaboration to deliver person-centred cancer care, using Future Health and the NSW Cancer Plan as our roadmap.

Hosted by Professor Tracey O'Brien, the newly appointed NSW Chief Cancer Officer and Chief Executive, of the Cancer Institute NSW, this informative event will provide health professionals, policy makers and system planners from across the cancer care continuum an opportunity to test thinking and explore new approaches to the complex problems facing the NSW cancer system.

Places are limited so register now to secure your spot!

Participants will come away feeling motivated, connected, and inspired, and will have the framework to drive local innovation and change in cancer care.

Picturing cancer survivorship

This year we are proud to showcase the Picturing Cancer Survivorship study - a unique photo gallery capturing the perspectives of people living with cancer.

This research, led by Social Scientist Dr Katherine Kenny, included volunteers from all walks of life. From young parents to elderly retirees, living with many different types of cancer - breast cancer, brain cancer, lung cancer, bowel cancer and more. Each of these everyday Australians has a unique story, which they generously shared through their photos and subsequent in-depth interviews.
